What Lowball is

Lowball is a Pokemon trading card pricing app for dealers, flippers and serious collectors. It prices cards and sealed product against current market data, then does the part most tools leave to you: it subtracts the fees you would pay to sell, so the number you offer is a number you can defend while a customer is standing at the table.

It runs in the browser, installs to your home screen, and works offline. There is no account and your data stays on your device.

The problem it solves

Market price is not what you receive. eBay takes 13.25 percent plus a per-order fee on trading cards, charged on the total including shipping and sales tax. TCGplayer moved to an effective 13.25 percent in February 2026. Whatnot lands near 11 percent. On a $200 sale that is roughly $27 gone before shipping, and an offer built on market price can hand most of the margin to the marketplace.

Portfolio apps have the same blind spot. They show your collection at market price, which is not what you would get if you sold it. Lowball was built because that gap is where a dealer's real money lives.

What every number means here

Pick where you sell, and every figure in the app follows: the offer, the trade math, the portfolio, the grading math. The profit you see is the profit you keep.

What it does

Trade Block

Build a pile of what someone is offering, set your cash rate or store credit bump, and see the market value, your offer, the net resale after fees and the estimated profit. Works for two sided trades as well, with a balance verdict. Every deal can be shared as a branded image, which is a clean way to close a negotiation at a card show.

Show mode

A running value out, value in and spread across the top of the Trade Block, so at the end of a show you know what the day cost and what it is worth without adding anything up. It can also price a whole pile at a buy rate you set.

Portfolio

Track sealed product, graded slabs and singles. Cost basis, market value, unrealized gain and realized profit from your sold log. Singles carry a condition from Near Mint through Damaged, priced accordingly rather than as though everything were mint.

Grading math

Compare a raw card against its graded outcomes after grading fees, shipping and resale fees. It shows the 9 case alongside the 10 case, which is the comparison that decides most submissions. It is arithmetic you declare the inputs for, not a grade prediction.

Card scanner

Point the camera at a card to identify and price it. Recognition runs on your device and works offline; no photo leaves your phone.

Common questions

Is Lowball free?

Yes. The trade calculator, show mode, portfolio, grading math and card scanner are free. Lowball Pro adds CSV import and export, a tax-year summary, a log of every deal and FIFO or LIFO lot accounting.

How do I install it?

Open getlowball.app in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, then choose Add to Home Screen. It then opens like any other app and works without a connection.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The card catalog, the scanner, the trade calculator and your portfolio all work without a connection, which matters at shows where venue wifi is unreliable. Only price refreshes need signal.

Where do the prices come from?

Market prices come from TCGplayer data via TCGcsv, refreshed daily. Card data comes from pokemontcg.io.

Who makes Lowball?

Lowball is built by a working Pokemon dealer under Optume Ventures LLC, a Pennsylvania company. The fee math exists because the person building it needed it first.
